Detroit - Unable to catch on to subtle cues, Chevrolet is gearing up to release their 2016 Camaro in only one color: red.
"America wants moar redddd, yolo"
Tweeted Chevy CEO Daniel F. Ackerson Friday.
More as we get it.

I am so mad that they never built this car!

It would be sweet.

Ugh, I can't stand these squinty eyed headlights...
![]() 12/06/2013 at 18:47 |

A popular complaint... Chevy can't take the hint.
![]() 12/06/2013 at 18:50 |

I wish it was only them doing this... It's almost as if these headlights were the automotive equivalent of the Chin Down Eyes Up videogame covers:
In fact, I think that's exactly what they're supposed to be.

Eventually the front of every Chevy will be nothing but a massive yellow bow tie. Snow plow sized.
![]() 12/06/2013 at 18:57 |

But it's soooo dramatic!
![]() 12/06/2013 at 18:58 |

And my god, it's so. Bad. Ass!
![]() 12/06/2013 at 18:59 |

Please tell me this grill was shopped.

Hmmmmm...
![]() 12/06/2013 at 19:01 |

I like the Code 1whateverthefuck concept but this is just hideous.
I'd like to see Chevy's interpretation of where the 6th gen Camaro would be had the 4th gen been directly replaced in 2003 and never continued with that design. The first gen stands out as the only "traditional" Camaro with a simple 3 box design and the Zeta Camaro clearly isn't what the 4th gen would have evolved into.

Hahahaha that was incredibly quick.

Probably just another C&D render.

Wait, what Camaro? What did I miss?

False alarm, I knew I couldn't miss something that important, lol.
![]() 12/06/2013 at 19:11 |

For Chevy's sake, I hope so. Otherwise, this kills the Camaro.
![]() 12/06/2013 at 19:20 |

Man, that's a lazyass photoshop. 130R concept from a while ago.
![]() 12/06/2013 at 19:21 |
|
Well, from another car anyway. The 130R.
![]() 12/06/2013 at 19:32 |
|
So the 2020 Camaro is just going to have a giant Chevy bow tie for a frontend? Just a bow tie with headlights.
![]() 12/06/2013 at 19:33 |
|
Am I the only one who likes it? I think the 130R concept language is awesome.
I would also REALLY love to see the camaro become a bit smaller while still being able to support the LT. The mustang seems to have retained similar size, but I would love them both to get a bit smaller and more nimble.
![]() 12/06/2013 at 19:34 |
|
I can dig it.
![]() 12/06/2013 at 19:35 |

I've never liked this design language. Some complain about the new Mustang design being "safe," but this has always looked downright boring. The Toyota Avalon has more distinctive design cues than this. Now the 2014 Impala, on the other hand, now that's a good looking car. Hopefully Chevy keeps going down that path.
![]() 12/06/2013 at 19:36 |
|
It's supposed to just be an industry rumor for now, but yes. It's just gonna be a bow tie. And headlights.
![]() 12/06/2013 at 19:40 |
|
well, for starters this is definitely not what the 2016 Camaro will look like or even resemble in the least bit.
![]() 12/06/2013 at 19:43 |
|
I thought that the 130R was a bizarre tribute to old featureless Japanese coupes of yore.
But I'm sure Chevy design's moved on. Like you said, the Impala looks great, and I'm sure the 'Vette is also an indicator that its future designs won't be boring, if controversial.
![]() 12/06/2013 at 19:47 |
|
You know anything about the real 2016 Camaro? Anything, man, I need it! I'll take any rumors at all!
![]() 12/06/2013 at 19:50 |
|
I agree with one caveat: don't call THIS a Camaro.
I like the design, but it ain't a Camaro. Evolve the current Camaro, the 2014s look fantastically mean. The front fascia on the 2014 is the best Camaro since the original, don't change it to this.
![]() 12/06/2013 at 20:05 |
|
I agree and I don't. I do love the 2014's, but big changes need to happen with the times. Maybe design wise this one doesn't do it for the moniker, but the sizing and a bit of extra design change could do a lot for it.

The one true color for Italian cars and motorcycles. Not sure about Camaros, though Ford just released the Mustang using photos of it in red.

Chevy's been aping Audi's grill on far worse cars for a couple of years. At least we get a good looking Camaro out of it.
